All Cloud K9 treats are naturally air-dried to lock in flavour and nutrients without the need for artificial preservatives. No. Cloud K9 treats don't contain any rawhide at all and never will. Rawhide is a choking hazard and is not safe for dogs to eat.

Yes. Our entire range of puppy treats is made with natural ingredients and no artificial additives, making them a great choice for all puppies. If your puppy has a known allergy or sensitivity, look for single protein options and hypoallergenic treats and introduce any new treats one at a time to see how they get on.

Treats should make up no more than 10% of your puppy's daily calorie intake. For young puppies, that adds up quickly, so keep individual treats small and factor them into their daily food allowance. Our calorie calculator can help you work out the right amount for your puppy's size and age.

Most puppies can have soft treats from around 8 weeks old, which is typically when you first bring your new puppy home. It's important to make sure any treats that you give to your puppy are an appropriate size and texture for their small mouths and puppy teeth.

Small, soft, high-value treats work best as training rewards. You want something your puppy genuinely gets excited about and can eat quickly without losing focus. Our Gourmet Sausage Slices are a popular choice.

Natural Treats for Puppies

The early weeks and months when you first bring your puppy home are really important. Getting things right at this stage can make a big difference to their behaviour as they grow. The socialisation and juvenile periods are where a lot of that behaviour is shaped, so having treats your puppy actually wants to work for makes rewarding the good stuff much easier.

Puppies can't just have any dog treat; they're not ready for bigger chews or harder treats yet. That's why at Cloud K9, we have a puppy-safe range of treats. They need simple ingredients that are easily digestible and textures soft enough for their teeth and small mouths.

All of our puppy treats are made with natural ingredients with no fillers or artificial additives. Our full range of puppy treats is grain-free and rated Excellent by All About Dog Food.

Cloud K9 puppy treats are perfect for training, teething, or just because those puppy eyes are impossible to ignore.

What Age Can Puppies Have Treats?

Most puppies come home at around 8 weeks old, and soft treats are the best options at that point. At this age, they need simple ingredients and textures gentle enough for young teeth and sensitive stomachs.

The smallest treats in our puppy treat range are our Gourmet Sausage Slices. They're highly digestible, gentle on your puppy's tummy and made with up to 100% real meat.

In most breeds, teething starts at around 12 weeks, when baby teeth begin making way for adult teeth. Smaller and softer chews can help with the discomfort during this period and give them something appropriate to gnaw on. Harder chews and bones are better left until adult teeth are through, usually around 6 months.

If a treat doesn't have any give when you press it, it's probably too hard for a young puppy.

Using Treats for Puppy Training

Positive reinforcement with puppy treats is the best way in early training. Our puppy treats are perfect for when you're working on recall, manners, sit, loose lead walking, or when building a positive association with a new experience or place.

The best treats for puppy training are small enough to eat quickly without losing their focus while being high-value enough to be motivating, and easy to carry on walks or in your pocket.

If your pup is easily distracted or harder to motivate during training, trying a few different proteins can help you figure out what they find most rewarding. Every dog is different, and finding what makes yours light up is going to make training sessions so much more fun and effective.

Chews for Puppies

Chewing is natural for dogs of all ages, but it's especially important for puppies. It helps ease teething pain, keeps their minds busy, and can help them settle into a new home.

Softer chews work well for younger puppies and those still teething, while slightly firmer options can be introduced as adult teeth come through and chewing strength increases. Always supervise younger puppies with chews and remove anything that gets small enough to swallow whole.

As your pup gets older and those adult teeth are fully in, you can start exploring the wider range of long-lasting chews, which offer a more satisfying chewing experience and work well as enrichment at home.

Finding the Right Treats for Your Puppy

Every puppy is different. Breed, size, chewing style, and personal taste all play a role in what works best, and it can take a bit of trial and error to land on your pup's favourites.

Trying a variety of textures and proteins early on is a good way to figure out what your pup loves.
